2019 Youth Beekeeping Program Applications Due Oct 1, 2018 2018 Youth Bee Keeper Winner Lillian Clark, daughter of Tracey and Alan Clark, receives her smoker from Youth Mentor Committee Chair Mitch Wayne.  A local beekeeper will provide assistance and mentor for 2 years. Junior beekeeper winners recieve the following from Jim Kloek, owner of Natures Nectar in Stillwater MN. 1-bee suit with veil and gloves 1-hive tool 1-smoker 1-deep hive body with frames 1-medium honey super with frames 1-feeder pail  Congratulations! Here you will find the Youth Beekeeping Partnership program agreement.  Our mission is to encourage the younger, interested generation to become involved in Beekeeping. The young beekeeper will be loaned a hive with bees and proper protective equipment. An experienced beekeeper will be assigned to that person. After two years of successful beekeeping, a certificate of achievement will be awarded and the hive and equipment will be given to the participant. Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, FFA or  4-H members interested in this program are encouraged to apply. Selection Criteria  1. Youth must be grades 6-11 by October 1st, 2018.  2. Applicant must be currently enrolled in public, private or home school.  3. Applicant must complete and return all paperwork, including permission and      agreement form signed by parent or guardian.  4. The application with supporting documents, as well as the waiver/binder form      must be postmarked no later than October 1, 2018 to the Program Coordinator:      St. Croix Valley Beekeeper’s Association: Mitchel Wayne, W9461 739th Ave, River Falls, WI 54022 Selection Process:  1. After all applications have been received; a selection committee will carefully      consider each and select the finalists.  2. Finalists will be notified by phone before the Nov Bee Club Mtg.  3. Finalists will be introduced to the Beekeepers Club at the March meeting.  4. Finalists will be enrolled at no charge in Dale Wolf’s Beginning Beekeeping Course. Application  Checklist  1.
